We invite you to an online discussion titled “What lessons can we take from U.S. experience with control of local democracy”, with foreign journalist and expert in local journalism, Lyz Lenz, who previously gained experience working for local news media and currently works as a freelance journalist. She primarily writes and publishes through her newsletter.
In the discussion, we will cover her transition from newsroom to freelance work. We will also discuss current issues in local journalism and how to address them, compare the level of local journalism in various countries, and we will also touch the topic of disinformation, which is increasingly affecting politics at the local level.
The online discussion will take place on Thursday, February 8, at 16:00.
If interested, fill in the registration form and we will send you the link to join the discussion.
The discussion is financed by the U.S. Embassy in Slovakia as part of the project “Mapping the media environment in Slovak regions and supporting local journalists”
